Este é o novo flash nikon, o SB900, veja a diferença no tamanho entre o Sb800, que está à esquerda. O novo flash tem várias funções inéditas, principalmente na área de controle da luz, possibilitando um zoom de até 200mm na lente do flash, e variando entre três tipos de luz: normal, concentrada central (que dá um facho direcionado como se fosse utilizado um snoot) e também o modo de luz mais difusa (melhor distribuída). Apesar do alto preço - cerca de 500 dólares - assustar, parece ser um ótimo flash. Mudanças generalizadas na forma de acessar os controles do flash foram feitas, e provavelmente os difusores que você tem agora não caibam mais neste novo flash…

It allows the user to choose between different kind of light spreads, going from even to normal to a zoom setting of 200mm, unseen in any flash until now. Despite his hefty price tag, around US$ 500, it seems to be a really good flash. Probably your actual diffusers won’t fit on it…

Não, este não é um “blog de fotos de carros”. Em breve terei alguma coisa diferente para postar - espero - mas agora, este é o assunto do momento aqui. O exif da foto está logo abaixo. Como sempre, minha 50mm é a rainha, sempre totalmente aberta, em f1.8. Os desenhos nos carros são carimbos de Photoshop, para dar um “clima”.

As usual, my 50mm is king here, and always wide open at f1.8. The stamps in the cars are Photoshop brushes, to give some “mood”.

Quando estou fotografando, procuro por coisas que não costumo ver sempre, novidades, para variar os temas que fotografo. Como já perceberam, não é fácil. Cada vez mais os temas se repetem e as fotos começam a ficar com a mesma “cara”. Culpa minha? - Claro que não - O mundo é que está errado. Cadê aquelas situações que fazem a foto perfeita??? Cadê aquela luz mágica??? Onde foi parar o tempo disponível para fotografar??? Quem matou Odete Roithmann??? São perguntas que não querem calar. Talvez a culpa seja minha mesmo…Gostaria de ter mais disposição para sair e fotografar. Às vezes, fico me culpando de ficar em casa sentado na frente do computador sem fazer nada, quando poderia estar na rua fotografando. Deve ser uma fase. Sobre esta foto: VW Kombi, cara a cara. Exif está abaixo. O tratamento feito no Photoshop foi: Duplicar camada, modo blend em Overlay, desfoque em algumas partes da imagem. Eu poderia ter usado uma abertura de diafragma menor, mas eu gosto da 50mm aberta em f1.8.

When i’m taking pictures, i look for something unusual, something new, so i can vary the themes. As you probably noted, that aint easy. More and more the themes repeat themselves and all the pictures start to look the same. My fault? - Of course not - I blame the world. Where are all that situations that lead to a perfect picture??? Where is the magical light??? Where is the available time to shoot??? Where is Waldo??? Those are the questions that won’t go away. Maybe it is my fault after all…I wish i had the willpower to go out and shoot more. Sometimes, i keep blaming myself for being home, in front of my computer, instead of shooting. Probably just a fase. About this picture: VW Kombi, face to face. Exif is right below. The post processing in Photoshop was: Doubling the layer, blending in overlay mode, some gaussian blue in parts of the image. I could have used a smaller aperture, but i like the 50mm wide open at f1.8.

Eu fiz esta foto quando estava passando perto da cidade de Joinville, que fica ao lado de minha cidade (Jaraguá do Sul), no estado de Santa Catarina. Fiz uma longa exposição usando um filtro escuro, chamado Filtro de Densidade Neutra, e também um filtro vermelho, para acentuar o contraste. A foto foi feita com minha Nikon D1x, lente 50mm f1.8, e um tripé para evitar o movimento da câmera. Utilizei o modo Preto e Branco da câmera, para testar. Acho que ela faz belas fotos em P&B, e provavelmente vou tentar este modo mais vezes.

Posicionei o tripé na água e coloquei a câmera, usando o self-timer para dispará-la, evitando assim qualquer movimento da câmera. A razão para escolher um tempo de exposição maior, com mais de um segundo, é que com isso a água fica com aspecto “fluido” e dá movimento à corredeira. Os dados da foto estão no exif abaixo.

I took this picture when i was passing by Joinville, a nearby city (i live in Jaraguá do Sul, Santa Catarina), and did a long exposure utilizing a dark filter (Neutral Density filter) in front of the lens, as well a red filter, to accentuate contrast. It was taken with my Nikon D1x and a 50mm f1.8 lens, as well as a tripod to avoid camera shake. The picture was made using the Black and White setting right on camera, just for testing purposes. I think it does great B&W’s and probably will try this mode more times.

I positioned the tripod in the water and put the camera on it, using the self-timer to take the shot, to avoid any camera movement. The reason i chose the long exposure time, more than one second, is to give the water the proper “fluidity” and movement.The exif data of the picture is below.

Visitando esta feirinha de peças para carros antigos em Pomerode, avistei umas garrafinhas de coca-cola em miniatura. Já fazia muito tempo que não via uma destas, ainda mais em dois engradados cheios…Isto é bem antigo, do tempo do io-io da coca-cola e da fanta…
Eu estava com minha Nikon D1x e uma lente 50mm. As fotos foram feitas com abertura de f1.8 na lente, porque eu gosto do foco seletivo que isto proporciona. Os dados exif da foto estão abaixo.

Visiting this old car parts fair, i saw some little coke bottles. I haven’t seen those for a long time, especially in two full containers…this is pretty old, probably from the same time of that coke and fanta yo-yos.
I was with my Nikon D1x and a 50mm lens. Shots where made at f1.8 (full open) because i like the selective focus it provides. The exif data of the picture is below.

Tenho observado, ao olhar este blog em diversos computadores, que algumas vezes as letras parecem maiores ou menores, chegando ao ponto de serem tão pequenas que não é possível ler o texto. Isto acontece em vários sites, e tem um jeito fácil de ser resolvido. Para usuários de Internet Explorer, vá até a barra superior do navegador, clique na aba Exibir>Tamanho do Texto>e selecione a opção Média. Usuários de Firefox podem segurar a tecla Ctrl do teclado e as teclas + ou - fazem as letras aumentarem ou diminuírem.

I noticed, looking this blog on several computers, that sometimes the letters appear bigger or smaller, sometimes being so small that can’t be read at all. This happens in several sites, not sure why, but it has an easy way to fix. Users of Internet Explorer, go to the top of the navigator, in the tab named View>Text size>and select a medium size. If you are using Firefox, just hold the Ctrl key in the keybord and press the + or - to change the size of the letters.
